EQUALITY and DIVERSITY POLICY

 

It is the policy of chambers to treat everyone with the equality and fairness, regardless of whether they are applicants to chambers or are current members or providers of goods and services.

Chambers is committed to promoting equal opportunities, by ensuring any form of direct or indirect discrimination whether on the grounds of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, citizenship, gender, gender re-assignment, sexual orientation, age, marital or civil partnership status, disability, religion or belief or political view is prevented.

Chambers applies these policies across the following areas.

a.      Applications for pupillages and mini pupillages

b.      Applications for Tenancy and Door Tenancy

c.      Applications for employment with chambers

d.      The selection of providers of goods and services to chambers.

All barrister members of chambers are bound by the Bar Standard Board’s Equality and Diversity Rules provided by the Code of Conduct relating to the acceptance of work and in dealing with fellow members, staff and clients.
